In a world full of trends, Rasta Man Jay is setting his own. With his signature mix of authenticity, Southern soul, and lyrical fire, the Brunswick, Georgia native has built a name not just as an artist—but as a movement. Now, with the release of his new album Made It Through The Rain Pt. 2, the CEO of Destined For Greatness Entertainment is ready to take things to the next level.
We caught up with Rasta Man Jay just days before his album drop to talk about the inspiration behind the project, his viral success, and what being a young king really means in today’s game
Q: First off, congrats on the new album! Made It Through The Rain Pt. 2 drops June 30—how are you feeling?
Rasta Man Jay: Man, I feel blessed. I really put my heart into this one. This ain’t just music—this is my testimony. I been through a lot, and this album is me saying, “I made it out the storm, and I’m still rising.”
Q: The title suggests struggle and resilience. What’s the story behind Made It Through The Rain Pt. 2?
Jay: It’s the follow-up to my first Made It Through The Rain, which was raw and real—but Pt. 2 is about elevation. I’m showing people that growth is possible, no matter what you’ve been through. Whether you’re sleeping on floors or dealing with self-doubt, if you stay focused, greatness is coming.
Q: Let’s talk music—12 tracks, no skips. What makes this album stand out?
Jay: I kept it real all the way through. I got no hook joints, I got straight bars, I got songs that’ll touch your soul. Tracks like “Flow,” “Straight Bars 2,” and “Can’t Stop Greatness” show different sides of me. But “Cook It Up”? That one hit different. It already got over 5.1 million views on Instagram, so the people definitely rockin’ with it heavy.

Q: “Cook It Up” has been going crazy online. Did you expect it to blow up like that?
Jay: Honestly? I just made that track in the moment—pure vibes. But that’s the thing about being real. When you’re authentic, people feel it. I didn’t force nothing. Just cooked it up and let the world taste it. [Laughs]
Q: You’re not just an artist—you’re also a father and a CEO. How do those roles influence your music?
Jay: Being a father changed everything. I got two daughters that look up to me, so I move different. I want them to see a king, not just a rapper. That’s why I go so hard. And as a CEO of Destined For Greatness Ent, I’m not just thinking about today—I’m building a legacy. I want to open doors for others too.
Q: What would you say to fans who’ve been following your journey since day one?
Jay: I love y’all. For real. Y’all been riding with me through the highs and lows. This album is for y’all—for everybody who ever felt like they wasn’t seen or heard. If I can make it through the rain, so can you.
Q: And for the new listeners just discovering Rasta Man Jay—what can they expect?
Jay: Expect truth, expect passion, and expect fire. This ain’t gimmicks. I’m bringing substance, soul, and straight heat. If you tired of the fake and looking for something real, come vibe with me.
Final Thoughts?
Jay: I always believed I was chosen. I’m just walking in my purpose now. This album is just the beginning—2025 is mine. Made It Through The Rain Pt. 2 is out now. Go stream it, share it, and remember: You destined for greatness too.
